What You’ll Do

The Customer Service Insurance Representative is responsible for tracking, obtaining, and reviewing, Certificates of Insurance from customers. The CSR interacts with customers, and insurance agents, through written communication and telephonically, while utilizing systems to monitor insurance expiration and record activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Request Certificate of Insurance (COI) from customers, insurance agents, and/or sponsors.
  • Review COI(s) for accuracy and compliance with the company standards.
  • Update insurance information and scan COI(s) in system after receiving a perfected COI(s).
  • Accountable to follow up on all insurance claim(s) and request of COI(s)
  • Records all communications in system for tracking, which includes but is not limited to, claim information, customer request, inquiries, and resolutions.
  • Responsible for understanding insurance coverage required for each type of accounts.
  • Acts as liaison between customer service and other organizational departments.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned by management


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of customer and/or call center experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to project a professional image; outgoing, personable, and good conversationalist who enjoys working with people
  • Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills to ensure matters are handled timely
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and insurance agents, as well as, with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications with strong overall keyboarding and internet application skills
  • Proper Phone Etiquette
  • Interpersonal, team player with attention to detail are essential to the position
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task and follow through
