Job Title:
 Rate Auditor

Department: Rating Services

 

 

SUMMARY

Provide various rate related information to the agent network to aid in the fulfillment of their objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide pricing information from published contracts and tariffs to the agency network.

Audit freight bills for compliance with rate publications.

Audit and resolve any other rate or accessorial related issues.

Timely research and correction or backup for balance due and overpayment files for Accounts Receivable.

Timely research and correction or backup for overcharge claims.

Handle accessorial billing for Third Parties, including but not limited to Permits, Escorts, and Mexican Accessorials.

Research and correct freight bills associated with code blues received.

Correct over-dimensional invoices when the heavy haul audit is completed.

Review all freight bills with a permit and/or escort accessorial for correct estimated charges before processing.

Receive and process paperwork from agents, BCO's and brokers

Audit and bill specialized accounts

REQUIRED SKILLS

Rating experience, preferred

Ability to read and interpret contracts and tariffs

Good verbal and written communication skills

Analytical skills

Detail oriented

Data entry skills 110 KPM, preferred

Working knowledge of iSeries 400 system, preferred

Working knowledge of Excel and Word, preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Ability to read, write and speak English.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
