SUMMARY
Ensure all commercial motor vehicle accidents under Landstar operating authority comply with federal motor carrier safety regulations, state and local laws, and company policies and procedures. Manage risk assessment of driver performance and behavior.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Respond immediately to accident hotline
- Complete data entry of accident requirements and record
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations in aspects of a DOT accident reporting, post-accident testing and reasonable suspicion testing
- Decision making specific to crash ruling
- Perform operator reviews and determine training needed and execute disciplinary action
- Rotate on call 24/7 accident reporting, nights, and weekends
- Must be available for all safety emergencies and capable of working autonomously in high stress safety situations
- Manage correspondence from the motoring public when complaints are safety related
- Analyze driver safety records and communicate disposition
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proven independent decision making skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills
- Accuracy in reporting crucial, confidential details to management related to possible increased liability/exposure
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to perform Safety relevant oral presentations
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Personal credit card for when travel is required
- One to three years of experience required
