BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Supply Chain Planning Engineer will assist in the development of innovative solutions to solve supply chain problems. These initiatives will lower cost, improve service, and enhance operational effectiveness. The Supply Chain Planning Engineer will use strong technical skills combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills in transportation and distribution solution development.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines:

  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis
  • Maps and documents processes
  • Recommends and implements process improvement
  • Establishes and implements performance measures
  • Conducts Supply Chain and/or inventory analyses
  • Redesigns and/or reengineers logistics processes
  • Supports business development and creates efficient designs and solutions
  • Determines efficient utilization of capacity by analyzing layouts, labor force, equipment, and transportation along with forecasted demand.
  • Works with Supply Chain and DC Operations Managers to implement efficient, competitive solutions
  • Manages projects that vary in size and complexity
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools
  • Assists in the development and delivery of presentations to leadership as needed
  • Additional duties as required by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required preferably in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred:

    • With a degree at least 5 years of experience in a similar industry or position required.
    • In lieu of a degree at least 7 years of experience in a similar industry or position required.
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of transportation and distribution operations, fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, decision support systems, and technology.
  • Experience preparing and presenting oral and written presentations to management and clients
  • Basic knowledge of the following is highly desired: VBA, Python, R, Matlab, Java, C++
  • Experience with supply chain technology (Appian, JDA, LLamasoft, Manugistics, Blue Yonder, etc.).
  • Experience with routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software.
  • AutoCAD , Warehouse Management System (WMS) or applied Inventory Analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of optimization and/or simulation algorithms
  • Database skills, especially through SQL or Access.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Typical office environment.
