Intern - Manufacturing Engineering

Position Overview
Assists engineers with projects, process improvements, engineering administration and implementation of changes.
Essential Functions
Function: Engineering Projects
- Time study existing processes and update our current systems to new time standards.
- Implement improvement ideas generated by process improvement system.
- Work with Plant Technicians to get feedback on process improvements.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with improvement of current processes.
Function: Engineering Administration
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding project status.
- Evaluate current processes and systems for cost reduction and improvement.
- Complete CN’s (Change Notifications) for related projects.
Function: Miscellaneous Engineering
- Conduct audits.
- Assist with engineering testing.
Qualifications
Education
- Must be a current Junior or Senior student in an engineering school working towards a Bachelor’s degree with engineering focus.
- Ideal field of study includes Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- Previous engineering, mechanical, manufacturing and/or welding experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint a benefit).
- AutoCAD and/or Solid Modeling programs experience
- Blueprint reading.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to do hands on work.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail orientated with the ability to follow multiple projects through to completion.
