KI is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our Manufacturing Operations team. The Safety Manager will manage the organization's safety programs and act as a consultant to support the safety efforts at KI's Manufacturing facilities. This role will develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.

This position will primarily be based in 3 manufacturing facilities in Bonduel, Green Bay and Manitowoc, WI. The Safety Manager will report to the VP Manufacturing Operations with a dotted lined to a plant General Manager.


  • Evaluate safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet Federal, State and local laws & regulations; provide support for standardizing and implementing these policies and procedures at the various manufacturing locations.
  • Develop and coordinate safety initiatives including awareness, compliance, incentives and enforcement.
  • Ensure legal compliance with OSHA in regard to policies, training, and recordkeeping.
Risk Management
  • Conduct regular risk analysis of injuries, first aids and near misses, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Provide strategy on mitigating risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and hazard assessments and develop sound recommendations for corrections working collaboratively with manufacturing management and engineering as needed.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees at all levels of the organization on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
  • Coordinate and standardize employee training in areas such as workplace safety, compliance, hazard identification and risk assessments, and the use of safety equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, risk management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in manufacturing
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of variety of safety/industrial hygiene regulations, concepts, practices & procedures
  • Self-motivated & deadline-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to frequently deal with employees, management, and local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
