Material Planner

Position Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. Duties include a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production phase, ensuring the working space is properly maintained in order to have optimal performance.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

• Plan individual part parameters to meet corporate goals of inventory levels
• Monitor supplier performance for timely shipping and parts supply
• Liaise with other areas to ensure resolution of any known supplier/material issues
• Expedite parts as required due to inventory loss or discrepancy, quality rejects, mis-usage, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
• High school diploma
• Four years of experience in inventory control, planning or expediting for a manufacturing facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Five years of experience in inventory control, planning or expediting for a manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Work with minimal supervision
• Good analytical skills with strong problem solving abilities
