Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing laser operations in support of producing machines manufactured at JCB North America. 

 

Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Perform typical laser cutting operations
  • Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures
  • Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point
  • Properly set-up for cutting operations. Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance, including Tape Shots and lens maintenance.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations
  • Perform all dimensional inspections
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Team Lead and/or Group Lead
  • Chart machine performance and administer routine checks/maintenance
  • Preparing raw materials for production
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques to assist Fabrication in the elimination of defects
  • May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Certificate in Laser technology from accredited Tech School or Training School
  • 2- 5 years of laser operator experience
  • Five years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently

  • Ability to operate bending presses, lasers, and various hand tools
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including, but not limited to, 12-hour shifts/7 days a week.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot and cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
