 ABOUT THE JOB

 

Geller House is a 24/7 short-term residential center  in Staten Island that provides rapid intervention, assessments, treatment services, education, social and recreational activities for at-risk adolescent’s ages 11-16 years old who are struggling with family and trauma related issues including; long-term abuse, neglect, substance abuse and mental illness.

 

Geller House is currently looking for a Senior Team Leader; a senior level administrative position, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, including performing all duties of a Team Leader. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the clients’ treatment plan and living unit; providing direct support care on an as-needed basis; participating in the intake/admission for new referrals; and Coordinating/overseeing programming for the youth, including clinical, recreational, medical, and school services, etc.
  • Providing supervision of all direct support staff; ensuring appropriate program coverage, including ratios and scheduling; Supervising all staff documentation (Alltrac reports, progress notes, ICMPs, etc.); completing ICMPs, and updating accordingly
  • Acting as integral part of the interviewing process; working in collaboration with HR; training/orienting new staff, including TCI training
  • Acting as On Call rotation for afterhours crisis; providing backup coverage for AOD as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, with 3 years of related experience; OR an Associate’s degree with at least 4 years of experience in a community mental health setting; OR a High School Diploma/Equivalent, with 5 years of experience in a mental health setting
  • A Valid, clean driver’s license is required; willingness and ability to drive agency vans/vehicles; ability to travel in the community with the residents
  • Excellent supervisory and resident engagement skills
