ABOUT THE JOB

 

The Kaplan House (Manhattan) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescent’s ages 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/developmental issues, and Kaplan House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assists youth towards reaching independence.

 

The Jewish Board is seeking a Case Associate at our Kaplan House in Lower Manhattan. The Case Associate at Kaplan will work directly with the youth in the program to implement their treatment plans as determined by the clinical staff. Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Locating and ensuring appropriate community resources for clients
  • Evaluating actual living conditions of clients through home visits; conducting home, detention & hospital visits
  • Representing Agency and Client in court
  • Attending ACS planning meetings
  • Conduct crisis management activities
  • Participating in intake, assessment, discharge, and follow-up treatment conferences

 

TO QUALIFY
 

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented professionals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

 

  • BA/S a minimum of 1 year prior experience working with a high risk population in social services required
  • A current, valid and clean Driver’s license is required for this position; Ability to travel within the 5 boroughs of NYC required
  • Computer literacy; Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong crisis management skills required
