The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. The Medical Secretary will support the Medical Team by scheduling appointments, data entry and follow up on needed issues. The Medical Secretary must exhibits strong organizational skills, Microsoft competent and works collectively with medical staff, clinical staff and administration.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the functions that are essential to achieve the goals):

  • Schedules and reschedules appointments, follow up with obtaining dates and time for office visits.
  • Check Individuals insurance and assure Providers are within the network
  • Assists with precertification on all procedures with Providers and Medical team.
  • Assists with preparation of paperwork and fax or mail to Providers
  • Managed and track data reports for regulatory and audit reporting
  • Travel to assigned apartments as needed.
  • Other duties assigned.


  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience and or training.
  • Electronic Health record experience preferred.


  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
  •  Familiar with medical terminology.


Basic computer skills required including agency software programs and Electronic Health Record.



The candidate must be able to review treatment plans and document manually or via computer daily logs. The candidate must be able to have the dexterity to pick up small items to work with clients on a variety of activities.


Able to multitask, move around and sits for long periods at a time.
