The Middle Office Operations Associate will primarily focus on our TBA (To be Announced) Mortgage Back Securities business with the Fixed Income Institutional Trading Desks. In addition, this individual will be part of the Middle Office Trade support team that ensures overall trade processing, handle trade problems and corrections, and oversee regulatory reporting of fixed income trading. The team also supports the Private Client Group (PCG) with handling of any Retail Trading issues and corrections as needed and will interact with Compliance and other Operations departments as required.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary focus on the TBA Settlement process on a monthly basis
  • Familiar with AOT’s, FICC reporting, DTCC MBSD RTTM Dashboard
  • Work with the Equity and Fixed Income Trading Desks to resolve outstanding trade problems (fails, discrepancies, trade corrections, etc.)
  • Work with broker-dealers, custodians and institutional customers as needed or when asked by the Trading Desk to resolve outstanding trade related issues
  • Monitor regulatory reporting issues, track required details and backup across multiple fixed income products and coordinate with Trading Compliance as required
  • Assist with allocating all institutional equity trading as required
  • Assist with the research and opening of new equity institutional trading relationships and escalate to the AML/Risk Department as needed
  • Identify potential process deficiencies and risk situations and escalate to management as required

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years of financial services operations experience (middle office and/or back-office operations); trading desk experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of applicable financial products (i.e.: Equities, Fixed Income)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Series 7 preferred

  • Technically proficient in BETA, Outlook, MS Excel, Pivot tables, Word, APPIX tool or like automated pool processing software for TBA’s
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and Flex Trading a plus
This role will be hybrid, the individual will work approximately three days per week in-office. Individuals hired to work for a team/manager based in our Philadelphia Corporate Headquarters will be required to show proof of vaccination per our Philadelphia Corporate Headquarters’ policy.
