This position oversees an Operations technology team that consists of four analysts. The team works closely with Janney’s Operations Management to maximize the effectiveness of Janney’s workflow and automation solutions. The Department Manager will function as a contributing member of the Operations leadership team and work closely with other departments within Operations and across the firm as necessary.

Essential Functions:

·Lead and manage a distributed and hybrid team of Sr Systems Analysts to achieve service goals/objectives. Specific management tasks include but are not limited to:

    1. Provide work direction to associates and coordinate workflow within the team.
    2. Interview, select and train new associates on Janney and policies and procedures and facilitate and support an open dialogue among the team.
    3. Provide positive and constructive feedback to associates on their performance and development needs both on a routine basis and through annual performance reviews.

·Serve as Janney’s technical lead for all Operation’s workflow platforms

·Participate in strategic and operational decision-making related to operations technology including the development of the short- and long-term roadmap to improve overall service.

  • Proactively recommend innovations and modifications in line with industry requirements and corporate goals/objectives to improve operational processes, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Be a champion of intuitive and easy-to-use user experience

·Organize/execute department projects on time and within budget that includes writing and reviewing business requirements.

·Efficiently use qualitative and quantitative data collection methods to drive prioritization decisions

·Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and Janney policies.

·Perform a variety of management and administrative duties that contribute to the overall efficiency, effectiveness, and positive reputation of the Department.

·Vendor Management

Required Experience:

·Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

·Series 99 or Series 7 and insurance license required or obtained within 90 days of start date.

·Five years of related experience in the financial services industry with a strong track record of delivering a high level of service to clients.

·Two years experience successfully leading/managing a team and providing an engaging, productive work environment strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills:

·Effective project management skills as evidenced by successful project implementations.

  • Superior time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively, and perform at a high level in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Experience developing solutions in no/low code platforms

·Knowledge/Experience using IFS, iGrafx, and SQL preferred.

·Technical experience developing or overseeing workflow automation preferred.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convert technical concepts into non technical stories

This role will be hybrid, the individual will work approximately three days per week in the office. Individuals hired to work for a team or manager based in our Philadelphia Corporate Headquarters. individuals will be required to show proof of vaccination per our Philadelphia Corporate Headquarters' policy.
