Accounting Assistant

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50/hr.  

The Accounting Assistant provides support to the accounting process with daily reconciliation of fuel and freight invoices to the wholesale delivery of fuel. In this role you are responsible for processing daily common carrier paperwork, daily customer billing, and daily status reports. You will review invoice exceptions and troubleshoot and identify reasons for differences in supplier and carrier billings.

Some of what you will do as an Accounting Assistant:

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Read/review bill of ladings and manifests
• Complete daily filing of carrier and driver delivery paperwork
• Enter data into excel spreadsheets
• Request fee approvals from Jackson Energy Company dispatch when clearing freight invoices
• Read/review fuel supplier invoices
• File supplier and carrier invoices in Laserfiche
• Use problem solving skills and attention to detail to ensure correct invoicing information
• Understand and follow company policy and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Strong skills in data analysis, organization, problem-solving, and computer applications
• The ability to work independently, communicate effectively, maintain high accuracy, working efficiently to meet regular deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Wholesale fuel industry experience is preferred, but not required
• A history of being a team player
• The ability to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization

Physical Requirements:  The work may be done in a sitting position with no excessive lifting, pulling, or pushing, and limited twisting, bending, and stooping.   While performing the duties of this job, there is required use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms.
