The Director, Software Sales is the senior leader responsible to leading and developing the software sales team—national sales executives, business development representatives, and pre-sales engineers. The mission of the software sales team is to penetrate the public and commercial sectors with the company's software and data offerings and to lead the aggressive growth of its revenue.



What you will be doing:

  • Direct the activities of the software sales team--from lead generation to closing sales, to ensuring that customers maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction for the Company's software and data products.
  • Closely manage the performance of the sales team and ensure that the team is attaining its goals as measured by KPIs.
  • Manage all aspects of team leadership--from goal setting, to establishing of sales processes--and shall.
  • Be a key interface to adjacent organizations that support the business.

 

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technically oriented field; MBA is considered a plus. A degree in Civil Engineering (particularly in traffic management or design) would be ideal.
  • 8+ years in sales or business development in a technology field, with analytics, data, and software sales experience being highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating “greenfield” markets.
  • Fundamental understanding of effectively selling long-sales cycle products and services and knowing how to establish ways to improve sales velocity.
  • Experienced in working with both direct and indirect salespeople.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly-changing environments and processes; energy, curiosity, and ability to work in a high energy, fast-paced sales environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com is a strong plus.
