We are looking for a resourceful, passionate Data Engineer to build and implement data management and delivery solutions. You will work with other data engineers and an array of business owners throughout the project life cycle.

Data Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and building data solutions with SQL Management Studio and the SAP Business Intelligence Suite. The Data Engineer will also work with the team to maintain and improve existing processes.

In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and strong instincts for problem-solving, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. You should also be willing to independently research technology outside of your current skill set and comfort zone. Knowing the answer is great, being able to find the answer is better.


  • Work with end-users to understand their reporting and discussing possibilities.

  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.

  • Design, build, and maintain data models in multiple database systems.

  • Build and support complex ETL processes.

  • Build and support semantic layers for analysts and business users.

  • Support end-users, analysts, and developers with data consumption and application support.

  • Recommend and execute improvements.

  • Participate in quality assurance and data governance.


  • Proven work experience as a Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Analyst, ETL Developer or similar role

  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases, specifically MS SQL, and the ability to work with large, complex data sets.

  • Ability to profile and understand existing complex systems through full business intelligence suite.

  • Ability to learn new and emerging technologies and techniques in the business intelligence space.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills


  • Experience in all aspects of end-to-end business intelligence platforms.

  • Experience with SAP Business Intelligence suite including Web Intelligence, Data Services, Information Steward, Universe Design Tool, BI LaunchPad, and application administration.

  • Experience with Epic data models (Clarity, Caboodle)

  • Experience in the Health Care or Health Insurance industry
