Bus Monitor and Afterschool Group Leader
The YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown is hiring for the position of Bus Monitor to support the transportation of students to a local afterschool program, with additional hours available should the candidate continue to work in the afterschool program as a Youth Development Assistant Group Leader. This role fills a strategic function supporting families in our Goffstown community by ensuring youth have access to quality and enriching afterschool care.
Position Specifics:
Work Shifts: Monday – Friday 1:30 – 3:45p (as a Bus Monitor)
Additional hours available as an Assistant Group Leader in the Afterschool program Mon-Fri 3:30 – 4:30p
Pay Range: $12 - $15hr
Applicants must have experience working with youth
Must meet State of NH Child Care Licensing requirements
Criminal background check and fingerprinting will be completed upon being offered a position
Route Description: The afternoon shift begins by joining the Bus Driver at our YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown location to start the bus route. The Bus Driver visits several Goffstown schools, collecting youth and then returns to the YMCA for youth drop-off to the Afterschool Program.
Essential Functions:
- Take attendance of bus participants
- Support youth success measures while on the bus to ensure a safe and responsible environment
- While working in an afterschool program, lead and participate in enrichment activities with youth such as STEM and craft projects, homework support, sports and rec activities, and character-building curriculum
- Act as a positive role model for youth and uphold the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
