Job Title: Lead/Setup
Department: Setup
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Reports to: Setup Supervisor 
Summary: The lead-man position is responsible for leading a crew of up to three employees. Tasks will include setting up the forms following blueprints, installing rebar cages and connection hardware.
 
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Follow all safety rules established by Gate Pre-Cast co.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Proven experience as a carpenter
• Hands-on experience handling carpentry materials 
• Proficient in using; hand tools (hammer, saws…), pneumatic tools (impact wrench, sander...), and measurement tools
• Layout forms according to blueprints within established tolerances
• Install connection hardware according to blueprints
• Finish all required work in a timely manner, organize the work on the decks
• Ability to lead a crew of up to 3 employees
• Willing to train crew members and new employees
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Perform additional duties as requested or required
• Maintain good housekeeping
• Good physical condition and endurance

Working Conditions:
• Indoor environment 
• Exposed to fumes associated with applying resin and fiberglass
• Exposed to dust associated with sanding wood, resin, bondo, and fiberglass
• Exposed to noise associated with mixing and producing concrete
• Exposed to vapors associated with thinners and epoxy
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School education preferred
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) recommended
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere required.
• Good communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arm; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, back brace, forearm shields, and safety vests. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
