Summary:
Assist Manager with the daily operations of the Zoo’s Cash Control Department and support the Accounting Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee and prepare the daily schedules of staff, including shift changes and call-ins
• Assist the manager to ensure the part-time staff is following proper procedures/policies in an accurate and efficient manner
• Assist with the hiring and training of part-time staff
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining ATMs
• Assist with research for chargeback and receipt requests
• Assist with cashier investigations and audits
• Proficient in the preparation of daily bank deposits and reconciliations
• Proficient in the disbursement, receipt, and verification of cashier tills
• Proficient in preparation, proofing, and posting of the daily sales report and other statistical reports
• Proficient in the disbursement or acceptance of Petty Cash requests
• Monitor and order supplies for the department
• Maintain strong working relationship with Revenue Operations and Security departments
• Responsible for the security of safe and accuracy of its contents
• Ensuring staff is offering excellent guest service
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Assist in overseeing all Cash Control employees including schedules, training, efficiency, evaluations, and any other necessary duties
Qualifications:
• Ability to work 40 hours a week
• Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
• Possess skills to operate basic office equipment, including currency counter and coin roller
Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent; college-level coursework in Accounting Principals preferred
• 2-5 years heavy cash handling experience; bank teller or retail cash office experience preferred
• 1-3 years supervisory experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Valid Class “C” Drivers License
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, and bend; must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
• Team oriented environment
• Ability to work irregular hours (holidays and weekends)
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and inclement weather
