Fortitude Re is a liability-led reinsurer of legacy insurance portfolios complemented by sophisticated investment capabilities. In 2016, AIG created a “Legacy” portfolio as a separate non-core segment representing insurance reserves associated with discontinued lines of commercial Property & Casualty and Life & Annuity insurance businesses. The following year, AIG formed a Bermuda-domiciled composite reinsurer, now Fortitude Re, to house the Legacy portfolio in a separate, distinct, well-capitalized balance sheet with a dedicated management team. In 2018, the company entered into a series of L&A and P&C reinsurance transactions with AIG and received an initial capitalization of ~$3 BN. The transactions represented ~$37 BN of reserves supported by ~$40 BN of invested assets. During this time, AIG also entered into a long-term partnership with The Carlyle Group, with Carlyle acquiring 19.9 % ownership. Then in 2019, The Carlyle Group and T&D announced acquisition of majority interest in Fortitude Re from AIG. Senior Associate AVP, Infrastructure Lead

Role Summary

This job role will assist in performing Information Technology duties that would help achieve resilient, responsive, and reliable IT ecosystem for Fortitude Life and Annuity Solutions. The role will coordinate internal and third party technology service providers Infrastructure operations and development. This role will build and monitor Infrastructure services, triage Infrastructure service failures coordinating with the providers, and provide analytics for service delivery from a multitude of providers.


-Design and implement infrastructure solutions with external service providers ensuring availability, Performance, Resiliency, Scalability, and Reliability supporting business operations

-Design, maintain, and implement security capabilities in accordance with corporate policies and procedures coordinating with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

-Manages change to the infrastructure environment using policies, procedures, and best practices.

-Software and Cloud Management Service.Configuration and provisioning of infrastructure, workspaces, for Development, Quality Assurance, and production Environments.

-Network Architecture Operating Service.Design, Configure and Maintain Network Architecture within the operating environments

-Provides oversight to system database services from service providers.

-Oversees Equipment provisioning of desktop workspace equipment

-Maintains and improves job role identity and Access Management provisioning

-Supports BCP and DR programs within the cloud environment and third party providers.

-Establishes and maintains standards for infrastructure and application deployment processes ensuring standardization and operational run requirements

-Monitors and measures day to day service levels of IT Infrastructure services

-Monitors and tracks incident and problem management process for Sev1 and Sev2 incidents supporting Application incidents from an infrastructure perspective for internal and third party applications and services.

-Assist with 3rd party vendor issues / maintain day to day service relationships

- Processes escalation requests with appropriate notification and tracking

-Provides written technical specifications and charts for IT systems and processes

- Additional duties as assigned by manager


Must be a problem solver

3+ Years direct hands-on experience with technology Infrastructure in a cloud environment, preferably AWS Technical skills knowledge and practical implementation experience of AWS services

Terraform, EC2, Networking configurations including VPN set up, Active Directory setup and maintenance, Workspace, Ansible, Repository setup.

Agile, SDLC and ITIL knowledge – SDLC knowledge required, ITIL knowledge required

Excellent Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Working skills with Jira and Confluence (creating dashboards, confluence pages, updates, etc.)

Ability to develop queries to extract data

Must be a problem solver

Critical thinking to effectively challenge data and develop recommendations

Business driven to achieve measurable results

Communicate effectively with front line manager and business community department heads

Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT discipline or equivalent experience
