FLEETCOR is seeking to recruit a Salesforce.com Architect for the Corpay Payables business.
 

Corpay Payables is one of the fastest growing and important divisions of FLEETCOR. We provide companies with a smarter way to track, manage and pay their expenses. Our products eliminate manual and disjointed processes, and deliver digital payments with speed and controls that minimize risk (www.corpay.com).

  • Our solutions automate accounts payable functions to improve operational efficiency, enhance control and visibility, mitigate risks, and prevent fraud, allowing A/P to focus on more important tasks.
  • Our customers can utilize enhanced payment security with virtual cards that have unique account numbers to allow payment only to approved vendors.
  • We help companies eliminate paper purchase orders, invoices, checks, and postage while giving approved purchasers an easier way to pay for services and supplies.

About the Role:
 

The Salesforce Architect will be a critical member of the Corpay Salesforce operations team, reporting to the Senior Director of Salesforce.com, who in turn reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Salesforce operations team is vital to FLEETCOR’s productivity, customer interaction & revenue growth.

As the Salesforce Architect you will be instrumental in the design and delivery of solutions for Corpay enterprise-grade customers using Salesforce products. The primary responsibility is to recommend the best solution for a given set of requirements and articulate the trade-offs involved in choosing one solution over another.

  • You will own the integrity and strength of the solutions recommended. You’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to our team and clients, and an effective mentor for other Salesforce professionals working alongside you. You will need a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform but just as importantly, top-notch people skills to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions
  • You will work with an agile, cross-functional team of project managers, business stakeholders, and other technical resources to continually enhance Corpay’s integrated Salesforce solution. This role is responsible for the overall health of Corpay’s Salesforce solution, including its design, security, integrations, and data.
  • As the Salesforce Architect, you will support several complex operations teams & processes:
  • Sales application to credit approval
  • New customer implementations, post hand-off from sales
  • Vendor enrollment and campaign activity
  • Payment support and transaction workflow
  • Relationship management and contract workflow
  • Shared services: account management, call centers, vendor management, API’s, desktop automation
  • AP Automation (virtual cards and full A/P)
  • Commercial Cards (expense cards and ghost cards)
  • Corpay One (SMB bill payment platform)
  • Gift and Prepaid cards
  • The Salesforce team is distributed across the US…with most of the team members based in Nashville, TN. The team is comprised of Salesforce administrators, developers & delivery managers.
  • Most Corpay operations users work in SFDC’s Service Cloud. Some teams leverage integrations to other applications such as Wrike (a project management tool) and Zendesk (helpdesk software).
  • Corpay Payables has 2 growth engines…organic sales and company acquisitions. In this role you will have responsibility to turbo charge growth with a) quick, high quality onboarding of new customers and b) integration of the operations of newly acquired companies.

If You Join Us, Here Are Some Of The Things You Will Work On and Deliver In The First 6 Months:

  • Simplify operations and consolidate Salesforce instances
    1. Corpay Payables has grown through acquisitions…with not much integration of product, operations, and IT.
    2. This confuses the sales representatives, makes it harder to onboard new customers, and prevents operations from achieving economies of scale.
    3. In the first few months you will integrate our Salesforce architecture to a single environment, supporting critical onboarding processes enabling the sales & operations teams to achieve efficiencies.
    4. You will help define the integration landscape including external systems & dependencies as well as process changes (event based).
  • Improve the health & wellness of our Salesforce environment
    1. You will partner with third party resources to perform an architecture assessment & prune technical debt.
    2. You will drive MDM strategy & long-term data governance policy & process such as quality improvements like deduplication, record mastery, and enrichment.
  • Build the foundation to scale the growth of the business
    1. We have a lot of manual processes, with limited documentation, and a lot of the knowledge in the heads of our talented team members.
    2. You will support the operational teams as a strategic solutions partner driving requirements to the Salesforce development team. These will deliver solutions that will ultimately lead to enhanced customer/end user experience, improved operational efficiency, and/or product improvements.

Qualifications:

  • They should also possess the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities proportionate to the job’s essential functions:
    1. Salesforce administrator-focused certification
    2. Salesforce developer-focused certification
    3. Proficiency with Salesforce’s declarative (out of the box) capabilities
    4. Proficiency with Salesforce best practices for designing and coding (including unit testing and code review)
    5. Knowledge of Salesforce integration APIs
    6. Proficiency with Salesforce Lightning Web Components, Apex, and Visualforce
    7. Experience with workflow, process builder, flow, assignment rules, and approval processes
    8. Experience with Salesforce digital experience sites (aka communities/portals)
    9. Familiarity with Salesforce software development lifecycle, sandbox environment management, and changeset deployment
    10. Experience with DocuSign, Conga, Ardira, Adobe, Outreach, LinkedIn (nice to have)

Education & Experience:

  • Four or more years of experience working with Salesforce
  • College degree in computer science or related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position

  • Not to confuse leadership and management – as a Salesforce Architect, you will take the lead on your own projects from start to finish. You’re responsible for controlling the outcome of your projects and having the confidence to do so is key.

Excellent communication skills

  • Communication skills are without a doubt one of the key traits of a successful Salesforce Architect. Getting buy-in from stakeholders, team members and even clients can be essential to the success of a project, so your persuasion skills and the ability to communicate your ideas is key. The ability to interpret and translate ideas is also important, as you will need to relay ideas and conversations to your team in order to ensure they understand the project and what is required of them.

Passion

  • Salesforce is constantly expanding and as the ecosystem continues to evolve, it’s essential to ensure that you remain ahead of the curve. You may have achieved your Salesforce certification, that’s great, but the learning doesn’t stop there. Keeping on top of changes and getting on board with learning new skills demonstrates a growth mindset.

  • Planning and organization should be at the forefront of every project you work on, no matter how big or small. Taking the time before starting a project, to evaluate and plan each step, ensuring you communicate this plan effectively across your team and key stakeholders of the business. As well as being organized, you will need to be able to solve problems and design strategies to deliver more complicated projects. Being able to progress the project with clever problem-solving skills will ensure that you don’t lose too much time when issues arise.
