Job Description

Reports To:  EHS / Maintenance Manager

 

 

Summary

 

As an Experienced Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of American Fan’s manufacturing processes by maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Optional HVAC experience is valued but not mandatory.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily hands-on working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to support existing business processes for American Fan.
  • Support and follow company safety programs and quality environmental programs.
  • Coordinates equipment shutdown for major maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots maintenance problems and determines when to call for outside repairs.
  • Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and make necessary repairs on plant equipment.
  • Follow prints, sketches, and schematics to assist in the installation of newer, rebuilt equipment.
  • Assist in the tear down and overhaul of equipment components such as, but not limited to pumps, valves, regulators, and motors.
  • Complete required reports and other documentation on assigned work and/or inspections.
  • Exercise understanding of mechanical components and how they work in conjunction with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Adhere to standardized processes and procedures and maintain reports as required.
  • Maintain highest ethical behavior while following American Fan procedures, policies, work instructions and safety guidelines.
  • All other work deemed necessary by supervisor.

 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical maintenance preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years in maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing facility
  • Excellent working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Must be a self-starter who works with minimal supervision and is able to direct others.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must have a good understanding of what is required to support the production function in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Must be well-organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks.

 

Desirable

  • Rotating and/or gas and air handling equipment experience.
  • Experience with servicing highly engineered equipment and products.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products, Word & Excel
