Position Summary:

 

This position performs the planning and scheduling function for all customer and inventory orders including vendor services (plating & heat treating).

 

Essential Functions

 

Planning/Organizing

 

  • Maintains Customer On-Time Delivery
  • Reporting OTD delays to Customer service (for OEM and RMA)
  • Maintaining all ship dates on the Sales Order for sales team
  • Maintain spreadsheets for BUD & Sales to review all WIP status
  • Yearly, monthly, capacity planning and improvement
  • Resource capacity-moving jobs to available resources ensuring level loading and preventing bottlenecks
  • Reviews Backlog Report, Open Orders and status of parts daily
  • Reviews Shipping Report to ensure Customer On-Time delivery
  • Reviews Backlog Report for Pull-Ins. If Sales Order permits, schedules in VISUAL to ship early if manufacturing capacity is available earlier.
  • Firm/release WO
  • Maintaining release vs want dates on WO to ensure correct finish date
  • Reviews Open Purchase Order Report and MRB reports
  • Creates Work Orders in VISUAL MRP for all fabricated in-house parts with delivery dates that meet Customer Sales Order required delivery dates
  • Goes out to Vendors with Request for Quotation (RFQ) to obtain best price and terms for services 
  • Issues Purchase Orders for materials or services required for Work Order. Maintains Supplier On-Time delivery for all PO’s placed.
  • Checks manufacturing capacity - if Sales Order permits, puts in VISUAL to ship early if manufacturing capacity is available earlier.
  • Scheduling outside services
  • Works closely with Production departments, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering; Is responsible for tracking progress of Work Order until product is shipped.
  • Reviews Open Purchase Order Report to see what parts are still due
  • Ensures that all Item Master Data (such as Lead-Time, Cost, etc.) is accurate and up to date
  • Participates in Pre-production meetings and reviews Bill of Material (BOM) to help ensure proper planning of production Work Orders.
  • RMA routing/Creating WO
  • RMA planning- sending repairs, inside repairs assigning to the appropriate resource

 

Experience/Skills

 

  • Must be U.S. Citizen due to our government contracts
  • Working knowledge of Infor Visual ERP/MRP system or equal preferred
  • Experience in an ISO certified working environment – ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 9001:2015

 

Education/Certification

 

  • High School/GED/Trade School or Associate’s degree in a technical field is preferred
  • Planning with 5+ years’ experience in ERP/MRP managed planning

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Job requires sitting at a desk doing normal office work, including phone communications and using a computer.  Also involves standing and walking in an office and a manufacturing facility.
  • Wears and complies with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) applicable to work area, including but not limited to eye protection and safety shoes
  • Follows all safety rules applicable to machine as stated on posted signs and in Company policy.
