Key Responsibilities:

The position of Service Project Estimator will encompass the key roles of sales, project estimation / quoting, and project planning / scheduling; and will accomplish these tasks while coordinating efforts across multiple companies, business lines / brands, factories, service centers, engineering, and many other sectors.

  • Sales - pursue leads for potential jobs and build key relationships with customers / clients. Understand the customer’s needs and look for potential up-coming service opportunities while helping customers identify maintenance requirements or solve equipment problems.   
  • Project Estimation / Quoting - Review customer “Request for Quote” (RFQ) / Solicitations and develop a comprehensive quote that includes all material / equipment cost, required man hours, sub-contracting cost, and a preliminary schedule for project execution.
  • Project Planning – Research the specific job requirements while interfacing with the customer, internal departments, and sub-contractors to define the project scope expectations. Develop a clear and concise task driven plan with a detailed schedule for work progressing by the execution team. Provide additional support as needed during the project execution for quoting “Condition Found Reports” (CFR). 

Qualifications We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, technical degree, or equivalent project management experience
  • Minimum of four years’ project estimation/quoting experience in a service, manufacturing or military environment required
  • Understanding of Shipboard equipment installation, maintenance, and repair planning / cost estimating specifically with: Diesel Engines, Motors & Controls, Valves & Actuators, Davits, Elevators, Lifts, & Deck Equipment, Water Treatment & Purification, System Flushing
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret government and commercial Request for Quotes (RFQ) / Solicitations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; and experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Salesforce) preferred
  • Demonstrates financial acumen (understanding of financial and accounting concepts/principles, drivers of profits and expenses, metrics, etc., to have sound judgment when making decisions and ability to understand the impact the decision will have on financial health of the organization)
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Sole US Citizenship due to access/potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NOFORN)
