Lead House Aide - FULL TIME - The Guest House at Graceland

This is a full-time position located in the Housekeeping Department at The Guest House at Graceland having variable/flexible working hours/days to include weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime as required according to the business needs of the hotel with benefits after successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is a promotional opportunity and is an internal/external recruitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the housekeeping management team of The Guest House at Graceland.
- Performs all house aide tasks as needed and upon shortage of staff.
- Able to competently train house aides to perform their duties as assigned
- Assists the housekeeping supervisors with any special projects
- Able to perform general cleaning of the outside public areas as needed
- Clean and sanitize all public areas of the hotel to include guest restrooms
- Shine/polish/dust windows, furniture, elevators and tracks as needed
- Clean tile floor in lobby, hallways, vending areas, and elevator
- Performs carpet cleaning as needed
- Vacuum hallways daily and throughout the day as needed
- Clean guest stairways daily
- Shampoo all common area carpets as needed
- Clean parking lot
- Empty all large trash receptacles and replace trash bags inside and outside as needed
- Pick up trash from all entrances, parking lot, lawn, and flower beds
- Clean out all cigarette butts and trash from outdoor urns
- Haul all trash to dumpster
- Clean dumpster area as needed ensuring all trash is placed inside the dumpster
- Complete all tasks that may be assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of daily hotel operations; must be able to communicate both in person and on the telephone with a wide variety of individuals; ability to maintain confidentiality; skill to work with guests who may become irate and upset; ability to problem solve; must have demonstrated experience with guest services/relations; must be willing to be part of the team; must be organized; must be fully capable to work and complete all tasks given under no direct supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak clearly and distinctly; both in person and on the telephone; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.; ability to stoop and reach; ability to climb stairs; ability to stand for long periods of time.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work in a no smoking area; must be able to work flexible hours/days and overtime as required; must be able to work weekends and holidays; ability to maintain confidentiality.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Identification badge and uniform is required; must practice good personal hygiene to present a neat, clean, and healthy appearance at all times.
