JOB PURPOSE: The Operations Educator is responsible for planning, managing, and implementation of operational education El Rio Health. This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination, and implementation, and monitoring of projects to collaborate and accomplish goals operational education and training.

 

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational education strategies needed to meet the mission and vision of El Rio Health Centers. This position is responsible for assessing operational education and training needs with execution of learning solutions to ensure employee competency, quality, and operational efficiency, using El Rio operating model for continuous improvement.

 

This role supports the efforts for broad integration of a continuous learning culture, in collaboration with key stakeholders including operational leaders and the Manager Clinical Education.

 

The Operations Educator exercises decision rights over learning initiatives, consultation services, design, and implementation and creates the learning infrastructure to enable El Rio Health to successfully execute the learning network brand, products, and services. The Operations Educator expertly applies modern learning principles and industry best practice standards, driving a culture of learning that leads to innovation. The Operations Educator collaborates with the OD Team and EPIC Training Team on the development of educational offerings.

 

The primary goal of El Rio Health Operations Educator is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.

 

Essential Job Functions:

    • Responsible for education operations including assisting in developing operational curriculum and ongoing operational education.
    • Collaborates with Manager Clinical Operations, Operations team, Organizational Development, and EPIC Trainers on the development of educational modules, tools, and resources for team members. 
    • Collaborates with Operations Departments to identify opportunities for improvement, develop action plans, recommend strategies to improve and provide the required education to relevant audiences.
    • Performs various administrative duties to support the Operations Education Department goals and initiatives.
    • Assess ongoing educational needs of operational staff and operational leadership on an annual basis or as needed.
    • Completes operations by:
      • Organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives.
      • Implementing productivity standards.
      • Identifying and resolving operations problems.
      • Maintaining reference manuals.
    • Provides information to Operations leadership, supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in person as deemed most effective and appropriate.
    • Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
    • Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions in coordination with Manager Clinical Education.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and regulatory requirements respective to the Joint Commission standards, HRSA requirements, CMS, law, and regulation.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business-related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in operations, clinical or healthcare environment.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in education consultation or support.

If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

 

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

    • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
    • Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
    • Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

    • Master’s degree in healthcare or business-related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Seven (7) years’ experience in operations, clinical or healthcare environment.
    • Seven (7) experience in education consultation or support.
    • Experience in an integrative health care system (clinical, behavioral health, dental) and/or in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
    • Experience with effectively utilizing information systems, software, and technologies to design, develop, and deliver learning modules.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
