Job Description

Cynosure is seeking to hire a dynamic Director, Events and Tradeshows responsible for leading and activating Cynosure’s events and tradeshow strategies focused on accelerating growth across our suite of beauty aesthetic service offerings and strengthening the brand’s presence and relevance amongst HCPs. The Director will develop and direct the overall strategic planning, budget, and execution of critical revenue-generating events & tradeshow exhibitions to deliver against annual revenue targets. The Director will also collaborate with key stakeholders: Sales, Service, Clinical, and Brand Marketing to develop strategies, business objectives, concepts, deliverables, and timeline of a show.
 
 
Key functions within this role’s responsibilities include Events & Tradeshow strategy development, commercial planning, content planning & creation across all priority products, management of all events, exhibits, and KOL relationship management, including their annual contracts.

Given Cynosure’s rapid expansion globally, the Director will ensure there is close collaboration with colleagues residing in the various geographic markets in Europe and Asia such that best practices for generating revenue at events is shared appropriately to drive scale.

This role will manage a small team and will be remote. In addition, the Director will manage some agency relationships as part of planning and execution.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and directs the overall North America strategic planning budget, and execution of trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, sales, and marketing to develop the business objectives, concepts, deliverables, and timeline of a show.
  • Provides innovative solutions to enhance the impact of an event.
  • Drive synergies between NA & International events to leverage best practices for maximizing revenue potential globally.
  • Ensures detailed planning and execution of show and evaluates show outcomes based on established metrics for quality and attendance.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
  • Lead and motivate a team of 4 individuals to develop & flawlessly execute highly integrated customer-facing events & tradeshow strategies / plans that support and build the Cynosure brand as the leader in the industry
  • Deliver annual NA Events revenue targets, while remaining within targeted budget.
  • Manage and conduct preliminary negotiations and review of all KOL contracts, Event & Tradeshow contracts and ensure team serves as liaison between event registrants, attendees, sales representatives, vendors and speakers.
  • Partner with team and cross-functionals to devise innovative solutions to enhance the impact of all events to nurture high quality leads and convert leads.
  • Ensure detailed planning and execution of shows achieve all outcomes based on pre-determined KPIs and metrics.
  • Partner with Insights, Sales, Digital & other necessary support teams to create a clear feedback loop of insights to strengthen future plans.
  • Partner with agencies to ensure flawless execution of events and also capturing of critical attendee information at shows.
  • Manage the Events & Tradeshow budget, adhering to financial processes for forecasting and budget management best practices.
  • Execute best-in-class content based on organizational priorities that drive engagement and interest among HCPs.
  • Partner with Sales to plan and execute critical Corporate Events to drive engagement (NSM, President’s Club, etc.).
  • Key metrics for success for this role include the following:
    • Attainment of key financial targets for NA Events.
    • Increase in conversion of high-quality leads at Events.
    • Increase in customer services satisfaction, based on post-events surveys.
    • Increase in lead generation at Tradeshows.
    • Timely roll out of customer-facing programs within budget.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • BA/BS required

Experience

  • Candidate must possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrixed and unstructured environment, as well as demonstrated ability to think strategically.
  • Experience in CPG, Beauty, Wellness, Aesthetics or Medical Device Marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer service and KOL relationship management.
  • Proven track record of building engaged high performing teams.
  • Ability to set a vision, create excitement and buy-in from key stakeholders, and develop a clear roadmap for execution.
  • Ability to define problems, assess data/facts, draw valid conclusions, and create options for a way forward.
  • Experience directing and managing creative & non-creative agencies is preferred.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills are required.

This position requires both US and International travel up to 75%.
