Neonatology – Surgical NICU Advanced Practice Provider
Under the direction of the Surgical NICU attending neonatologist and practicing within developed Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols, the Advanced Practice Provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat infants in the NICU undergoing surgical evaluation or surgery. Central to the role, the Advanced Practice Providers will assist in developing and implementing plans of care for surgical NICU patients. The Advanced Practice Provider functions in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, which includes pediatric surgeons, pediatric gastroenterologists, dieticians, wound care team, etc., while also providing consultation and education to nursing staff, patients, and their families. The Advanced Practice Provider also helps in developing management guidelines and participates in quality improvement projects.
The successful candidate will be eligible for either a CA Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license and have at least one year of experience in direct NICU patient care. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
