Why CHOC Children’s Specialists?  Come join an organization that is defining the future of pediatric medicine in clinical care, research, and education.  We have two opportunities for Advance Practice Providers in our Critical Care Division to function within the CHOC Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) at Orange (full time days) and at Mission (per diem nights).  With demonstrated expertise in pediatric intensive care, these positions will function in the advanced practitioner role as a clinical expert in the management of pediatric intensive care patients within a family-centered care environment.

Under the direction of the attending PICU attending and practicing within developed Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols, the Advance Practice Provider will evaluate, diagnose and treat pediatric intensive care patients.  Central to the role, these providers will assist in developing and implementing plans of care for all patients in the PICU, as well as provide consultation and education to patients and their families.

Successful candidates will be eligible for unrestricted CA Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license and have at least one year of experience in direct pediatric intensive patient care.  DEA registration, one year of clinical pediatric Advance Practice Provider experience, and demonstrate excellent communication skills are also required.
