BASIC PURPOSE: 
 
Working as part of the Financial Planning & Analysis group, the SQL & Power BI Developer will be responsible for creating reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics to provide business insight that aid decision-making using Power BI across the enterprise. Uses query languages like T-SQL, scripting languages like DAX, R or Python and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analysis.  Works with Project Managers, SME’s and application development teams to understand requirements. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:    
Developing dashboards, visualizations and reports using Power BI to improve business process
Curating data sets using SQL that drive data collection models to better consolidate information
Builds data models that help improve efficiency throughout the overall financial and business operations BI catalog
Performing quality assurance testing to ensure the data presented is correct
Identifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving efficiency and profitability
Collaborating with team members at all levels for the purpose of collecting data, documenting requirements, and executing on deliverables
Analyzing business requirements and processes to provide recommendations for improvement 
Perform data profiling to identify anomalies
Creating and maintaining documentation that includes design, requirements, and user manuals
Learning and understanding the data landscape across multiple databases and applications
Coordinate with IT Department to implement new models
Create presentations to present analysis findings

QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, information science or related field essential 
5+ years’ in analytical position
3+ years’ using Power BI (other leading BI applications will be considered)
3+ years’ of database design with SQL Server and SQL Language
Strong knowledge of data collection software and protocol
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency – Advanced Formulas, Pivot Tables & VBA Macro
Ability to structure business discussions and scope solutions
Excellent analytical and forecasting ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understand current data protection and privacy laws
Ability to think through problems and provide recommendations to a solution
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects in parallel

Required Skills
Develop and mange BI solutions using Power BI
SQL object development, performance tuning, data analysis and integration
Strong knowledge of T-SQL and DAX to support reports, dashboards, and data models
Applies data visualization best practices
Implement row-level security on sensitive data in coordination with application security model
Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and presentation skills
The ability to work both as a team and independently
Excellent Problem solving and analytical skill
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Ability to analyze and mine data from multiple systems.
Ability to understand user’s needs and devise solutions accordingly.
In-depth knowledge of the data development life cycle
Excellent documentation skills.
Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A track record of following through on commitments.

Preferred Skills
Prior experience in Healthcare Staffing
Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals
Ability to learn and stay up to date with current technologies in the BI domain.
Advanced knowledge of Power BI, DAX, and T-SQL
Passion for data quality and excellence
Understands the value of prototyping, usability, and user experience
