Overview of Duties and Responsibilities
Our Tool Install Mechanical Designers are responsible for calculating duct and pipe size, determining duct and pipe routing paths, and producing AutoCAD drawings from design data provided by our tool suppliers. They are much more than drafters picking up red marks - you will work closely with engineers and other designers as an integral member of a multiple-discipline design team that produces unique tool install designs in a high-paced environment. As part of this team, you will develop design concepts and coordinate designs to resolve both real and modeled conflicts. You will be responsible for managing your own workload, making and keeping your own commitments, and taking full ownership of your product. Daily job duties include:
• Create mechanical drawings to meet design and client needs
• Perform all appropriate calculations (e.g. water, exhaust, and gas flow) required for the mechanical design packages.
• Conduct field investigations of construction site and clean room environments to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design packages.
• Manage and incorporate electronic redlines from the Mechanical Engineer using established company workflows.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, and Architectural) for design package needs.
• Ensure quality control by complying with team Design and CAD standards.
• Attend design review meetings, note all design comments, and pick up the resulting redlines.
• Assist colleagues with CAD support.
• Provide quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met
• Coordinate with document control personnel for review and transmission of design packages.
