About the position


Scale for Change is seeking a highly motivated Regional Program Manager to manage multiple state directors and/or in-state leadership on a variety of electoral and issue-based outreach campaigns. You will hire, train, and coach in-state staff to successfully meet their qualitative and quantitative goals of each program. The Regional Program Manager reports to the Deputy Program Director at Scale for Change. While every program may be different, campaign elements for the state teams might include direct constituent contact, volunteer engagement, building coalitions, digital organizing, and fundraising. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple state directors and/or canvass managers create and execute campaign plans for educational, advocacy, and electoral campaigns.
  • Liaise with clients and multiple stakeholders to set clear goals for up to 10 states or programs with different programmatic priorities.
  • Work with leadership to break overall goals down into smaller goals, develop timelines and work plans, and produce reports to tell the story of your team’s progress.
  • Supervise in-state managers by setting clear goals, developing work plans, acting as a coach and mentor to ensure employee development, conducting regular check-ins, and offering feedback.
  • Conduct daily and weekly reporting on metrics and goals for the organizing program.
  • Ensure data collection integrity through enforcement of quality control measures.
  • Effectively use technology tools to ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Complete regular site visits to ensure offices are running smoothly
  • Ensure client and organizational satisfaction and completion of all program goals and obligations.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a mix of grassroots, legislative, electoral, paid, and volunteer organizing.
  • At least one year of management experience.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage and track multiple projects at once.
  • Has managed multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Has developed campaign or field plans (strategies to accomplish a goal).
  • Demonstrated success in meeting goals and expectations and managing others to goals.
  • Knows how to use the VAN voter database software.
  • Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to sexual and reproductive health, politics, and public policy.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to progressive causes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including comfort meeting and talking with new people.
  • Effective communicator face-to-face and in writing.
  • Curious and excited about movement building and grassroots organizing.
  • Flexible and self-motivated to identify priorities and complete work independently.
  • Comfortable with technology and can learn new tools quickly.
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce and with/for communities of color.
  • Experience in stakeholder/community engagement.
  • Clear and concise communication with team members and senior management.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain a solutions-oriented attitude in tough situations.
  • Licensed driver with access to a vehicle.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

There is no formal education requirement for this position.


Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt, mid-level position with Scale for Change, with an annual base salary between $70,000 and $75,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. Full-time exempt employees are also eligible for a cell phone reimbursement of up to $75/month, and employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance. This is a short-term position with an expected end date of November 30, 2022.
