Summary

Responsible for performing a wide range of operations, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on plant equipment.Required skills include the site-specific combination of preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repair.Equipment maintenance knowledge should include all relevant plant equipment.

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas

This position requires technical aptitude to be able to assist or perform maintenance/operational tasks as required.

Perform tasks such as welding, fabricating, repair, and troubleshooting plant equipment and related systems

Performs maintenance of rotating equipment including, repairs, inspections, and laser alignment

Organize parts inventory for equipment at multiple plant sites

Ability to interact and communicate with contractors or customers of NRG.

Provide day to day communication to supervisor with respect to projects and condition of equipment

Establishes the highest standards of business conduct, discipline, and ethical behavior to ensure continuing compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong leadership ability

• Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, and motivational

• Ability and willingness to lead and train coworkers to fully realize maximum team potential

• Ability to coordinate numerous activities under stress with poise, safely and successfully

• Possess an excellent working knowledge of operations and maintenance for efficient and effective production

• Familiar use in MS Office suite applications especially Excel and ability to learn

• Awareness of project scheduling software

• Ability to develop work plans and maintenance schedules

• Knowledge of district energy systems

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of one years’ experience in plant operations, maintenance, or engineering

• Minimum one years’ experience in refrigeration, steam, boilers and chillers

• Experience adhering to safety policies and environmental compliance

• Valid state driver’s license

• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise software is preferred

• Completion of formal steam plant operations training, licensure, or certification program is preferred

Working Conditions

• Normal plant environment and/or out of doors work environment. Includes working at heights, high/low ambient

temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unit work locations

• Requires operation of a motor vehicle; Valid State Driver’s License

• Regular extended and non-standard hours during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones

• Occasional travel to Corporate locations and other company plants

• Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear,

ear plugs, fall protection etc.)

• Requires working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals

• Requires operation of a personal computer
