The Funding Clerk provides support to the funding group by assisting in managing and tracking that the inbound funding packages are prepared for review and eventual funding by Funding Analysts. Supports the overall direction of financial activities of the Department as well as Merrick Bank Corporation (the “Bank”) by performing, or assisting in the performance of, the primary duties listed below. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares loan funding files according to Department procedures for distribution to Loan Analysts for review. 
  • Organizes and tracks all incoming contracts and funding files 
  • Assists in filing and maintaining scanned images of inbound contracts and supporting funding documentation.  
  • Keeps abreast of developments in relevant state and federal regulations, systems and procedures and makes appropriate recommendations for improving efficiency and compliance
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required. 
  • One (1) year work experience in similar or related field preferred is preferred. 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Effective organization, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.  Skill at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously.  Flexibility, ability, and willingness to work at a rapid pace in strict time frames. 
  • Experience in working with and maintaining spreadsheets and/or databases.
