Position Summary:  

The Training Generalist will join a Learning & Development (L&D) team focused on enhancing employee skills, knowledge, and competencies, creating and delivering learning initiatives and flexible learning interventions to enable the organization to constantly evolve and develop. This is an appealing position for someone seeking to continue their learning and career growth in all aspects of L&D, such as Instructional Design (ID), training, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration. Primary responsibilities are supporting the L&D team, creating courses in consult with team IDs, LMS administration, assisting with training initiatives, and performing varied administrative tasks. The Training Generalist will have the opportunity actively participate in meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience. This position requires strong organizational skills, creative thinking, and a strong understanding of adult learning theory.  This is a highly interactive position with the L&Dand Human Resources team and other departments requiring advanced collaborative, interpersonal skills.

  

This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Director of Learning & Development.

 

What you will do:

  • Support the L&D team with the development and execution of training projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks such as training coordination, research, reporting, tracking, scheduling, training preparation, managing the L&D team inbox and intranet site, training calendar, L&D newsletter, etc.
  • Design eLearning training courses or modules based on business needs.
  • Create training products such as user guides, presentations, job aids, handouts, etc.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop instructor-led training, eLearning or experiential learning.
  • Test, debug and troubleshoot training products and courses.
  • Regularly maintain and update course content based on quality reviews and feedback from trainers, learners, forms, surveys, management, and audits.
  • Convert existing eLearning courses created in iSpring to Articulate.
  • Complete LMS Admin tasks, such as creating courses, enrollments, reporting, account creation, importing courses, reviewing content, creating learning plans, annual audits of course content, etc.
  • Assist in reviewing and importing vendor courses for employee development.
  • Conduct live instructor led training on corporate or department specific topics.
  • Conduct Orientation training for new hires.
  • Manage tasks for new hires, such as setting up users in the LMS, assigning onboarding courses, tracking onboarding status, reporting, miscellaneous correspondence, etc.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, department meetings, project meetings, etc.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by Manager and Instructional Designers.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field of study preferred.
  • 3+ years’ related work experience in a Learning & Development department; working with remote, dispersed teams a plus.
  • Solid understanding of instructional design methods and adult learning theory.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, iSpring, Lectora, Captivate, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, adhering to quality standards and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours across US time zones.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams).

 

Physical Demands

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: 

  • Sitting, standing, and walking (95-100%)  
  • Keyboarding (70-90%)  
  • Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone requiring close vision (70-90%)

 

Work Environment: 100% Remote work at home.

 

Compensation:
