JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Project Management Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our Health Plan's projects by assisting in the implementation and optimization of project management tools and methodologies, with a specific emphasis on agile practices. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare IT project management while contributing to the success of impactful initiatives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tools Implementation and Optimization:
    • Assist in the elevation, selection, and implementation of project management tools to enhance efficiency and collaboration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to customize and configure tools to meet project-specific requirements. Conduct training sessions for team members on effective utilization of project management tools.
  • Agile Methodology:
    • Work closely with project managers to promote and facilitate the adoption of agile methodologies within the organization. Participate in agile ceremonies, including spirit planning, daily stand-ups, spring reviews, and retrospectives. Contribute to the development and maintenance of agile documentation, including user stories, product backlogs, and sprint plans.
  • Project Support:
    • Collaborate with project teams to track and report project progress using established tools and methodologies. Assist in the identification and mitigation of project risks and issues. Contribute to the development and maintenance of project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Engage in retrospectives to identify opportunities for process improvement. Proactively seek feedback from team members to enhance the effectiveness of project management practices. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in project management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Strong interest in project management, particularly in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with project management tools specifically Jira.
  • Basic understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
