Cultural Resource Specialist

SpecPro Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of BBNC, is seeking a full-time Cultural Resources Specialist to join our dynamic team of conservation scientists. This on-site support position is located at Fort Campbell, Kentucky for the Cultural Resources Management Program (CRMP), Environmental Division in the Directorate of Public Works (DPW), U.S. Army Garrison.

This position requires aptitude in scientific writing, administrative skills, and logistics in both the office and field. One year of experience applying archaeological field methods (Phase I and II), familiarity with using GPS, and performing artifact curation. An understanding of cultural resource laws and regulations and willingness to learn. Ability to work in the field in all seasons, walk/hike long distances, and be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Primarily tasks include annual archaeological site/cemetery monitoring, small-scale archaeological testing, and field surveys. Comfortable working independently in remote locations, collecting GIS data, and assessing impacts to archaeological sites. Assist with site record preparation and artifact/record curation. Conduct outreach via social media and at public events. Review small scale construction projects.  

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, history, or related field.

Proficiency using ArcGIS 10.X and Microsoft Office 365 software.

Ability to act professionally and follow Army protocols.

Creative mindset ready to conduct and present research about archaeology on Fort Campbell.

Must have valid driver’s license.
