Peer Support Specialist - Part Time

Job Description:

Broadstep Behavioral Health Inc. is seeking a Part Time Certified Peer Support Specialist to serve as a team member our treatment team that provides direct clinical care to adults and children in our community based and in-home care programs in North Carolina. This position works closely with other clinical members of a defined team and serves an integral role in the treatment of patients in the behavioral health continuum.

Schedule & Location: (Part Time; Community Based)   

 Job Type:
(Community Based/Onsite)   

 Job Duties:  

• Identify with consumers as a person in mental health recovery in a manner that is supportive and encouraging
• Establish supportive, therapeutic rapport with the service recipients;
• Communicate and provide information as to the purpose of peer support and recovery models
• Intentionally share their Recovery Story as appropriate to assist service recipients, providing hope, safety, trust and opportunity in promoting adaptive life skill and behaviors

Required Education/Experience: 

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years

• Stong Documentation Skills   
• Ability to Analyze Detailed Information
• Strong Verbal Communication Skills

Required License/Credentials:   

• Peer Support Certification
