Job Description

Title: Campus Supervisor - Full-Time Department:  Guest Services - Campus
Reports to: Guest Services Director         Supervises: Campus Rentals

Summary:  
Under supervision of the Guest Services Director, the Campus Supervisor is primarily responsible to provide year round oversight of Campus Rentals, and Campus activities, as well as assist campus activities under the prevue of the Programming Dept. To ensure that no unauthorized groups or individuals’ trespass or vandalize Campus property. Provides support to activities and rentals upon the request of supervisor. To ensure assigned staff and equipment are in place based on rental and activities. Verify staff training/certification, pool/campus safety, operating procedures, and customer service is maintained.

Competitive candidates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and current American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, and AED training. CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is highly desirable. 

Tasks/Responsibilities: 

Represents Pearlstone in activities as required.
Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning, accident reports, problem-member reports, and problem-group reports for Pool and Campus
Assists in pool opening and closing at the beginning and end of season.
Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and training of all Campus Staff/Lifeguards.  
Supervising and evaluates Campus staff  
Enforces pool rules for safety and conduct.
Supervisor set up pavilions as required and the returns all equipment to designated storage areas when not in use.
Oversee staffing of all ropes for Retreat, Getaway, and public activities.
Supervises rental groups to assure that campgrounds, equipment, and buildings are used appropriately.  Inspects facilities before the departure of each group to assess any possible damages.
Assist in the creation and supervises maintenance schedules in accordance with machinery manufacturer and contactor recommenda¬tion for lubrication, inspection, cleaning, and other necessary work on all mechanical and electrical equipment.  Winterize and/or summarize buildings and equipment to maximize their useful life span.  Inspects and report needed repairs to Director, where necessary, all Campus equipment to insure it functions properly.
Supervises outside contractors used for such items as winterizing, maintenance, trash collections, repairs, and installations.  Ensures all work is performed in accordance with the contract. 
Participates in departmental training, staff meetings, committees, and special events.
Performs other tasks assigned by the Director of Guest Services.



Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree (or working towards one) in Education related field preferred.
American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification.(Preferred)
CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, and AED training. CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is highly desirable.
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
Communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage personnel.

Other Duties
Must check Pearlstone email on a regular basis and respond in a timely manner.
Provide top notch customer service to all guests.
Other tasks/duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
2 years of pool, hotel, or related managerial experience preferred
Good oral and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and spreadsheets, and good typing skills a plus.
Knowledge of Kosher laws, Jewish holidays and observances a plus.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals (familiar with Material Safety and Data Sheets).


Physical Demands:
Work outside in the heat
Stand for long periods of time
Lift 10-50 pounds
Team lift 50+ pounds

Mental, Physical and Visual Skills:
Must be able to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with several concrete variables.  Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, and do calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.  Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.  Must be able to do light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, walking, pushing, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.  Have visual requirements of mid-range vision.

Working Conditions:
Works in a normal outdoor environment.  Some heavy lifting required.


Evaluation:
Three months from date of hire; thereafter, annually
