Purpose of the Role:

The Purpose of the job is to help support the production floor and the operators to be successful at their job every day.  Remove roadblocks and obstacles that prevent Operators from meeting their daily production goals by standardizing work content and being available to support. 

 

In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity to:

  • Build cross functional relationships and assist with employee engagement activities
  • Follow up with all team members in proper time frames
    • Ensures team production team has materials, tools, and resources to attain targets
  • Solve conflicts when they occur and document them. Escalate to supervisor for support
  • Inspect raw material, assembles, packages, and inspects products to ensure product meets quality criteria
    • Working on production lines as required
  • Help ensure Production Metrics are met daily and hold employees accountable for:
    • Scrap
    • Productivity
    • Quality
    • Safety
  • Utilizes IFS and helps follow priorities in the dispatch list as daily and weekly scheduled
    • Creates roster to staff lines and ensures employees are cross trained
  • Assist in training new operators in production and that trainers are properly documenting training
  • Work with planner when material shortage occurs to reschedule run when necessary
  • Assist in managing hourly production labor
    • Assist with developing short term and long-term employee counts
    • Ensure employees and work environment are in a safe state at all times
    • Help manage machine downtime by allocation of labor to other areas
  • Support Production Assistants in managing IFS transactions and data collecting such as quality checks and changeovers
  • Verify final counts on paperwork are correct
  • Verify line clearances are complete and correct
  • Identify and communicate to QA nonconforming product
  • Assist in closing shop orders to keep product releasing
  • Help investigate safety incidents within 24 hours when required
  • Participate in corrective action and complaint investigation meetings as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement events as requested
  • Gives feedback on performance reviews for production employees
  • Assist with corrective action write ups as appropriate within a timely manner
  • Assist with shift and area communication meetings as needed for:
    • Shift transition meetings daily priorities
    • Employee events
    • Continuous improvement events
    • Quality alerts
    • Safety alerts

 

What You Need to Succeed in This Position

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Strong leadership skills; able to motivate and create engaged teams
  • Professional, respectful, fair, and consistent
  • Display developed interpersonal skills: leadership, team orientation, ability to communicate at all levels
  • Able to lead team in problem solving root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions 
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong drive and a sense of urgency to resolve issues
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to make effective decisions and maintain effectiveness under changing circumstances and priorities
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills to work with concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry. Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Strong planning and organizational skills  
  • Maintain 5S standards on a daily basis
  • Overtime and weekend work frequently required
