Position Summary:

The Commodity Leader assumes responsibility for the procurement of specialty raw materials and tolling services vital to our manufacturing operations at our Chesterfield plant. The role is actively involved in the formulation and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives, evaluation of product offerings, supplier identification, and is adept at negotiation of contracts. The Commodity Leader is also tasked with issuing purchase orders (POs) and is dedicated to minimizing expenditures while ensuring the acquisition of top-tier equipment, supplies, and services.

 

 

 

Summary of the Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage spend for specialty commodities and additives used in polymer resins manufacturing.
  • Assist in the management of the procurement of external manufacturing (tolling) services, including assisting in the development of new tollers, where required.
  • Assist in researching external trends associated with key raw materials. Develop and maintain procurement category strategies for assigned raw material categories.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, Statements of Work, NDAs as applicable to execute against objectives. Manage SAP purchase requisitions queue, issue POs, develop and manage SAP Outline Agreements.
  • Manage suppliers and distributors, working closely with the Supply Chain and Procurement Leaders to leverage strategic sourcing and multi-site spend.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or related technical field; Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related role
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers

 

 

Overview of the Team:

The Commodity Leader is an important part of the overall Procurement & Logistics function, which consists of a team of 30 people who value teamwork and collaboration. The Commodity Leader will specifically support the tolling services, while working cohesively with the larger team to find the best and most cost-effective options for the organization.
