Position Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer II works closely with the Operations, Reliability, Production Teams, was well as all levels of the Manufacturing organization to ensure the safe and profitable operation of the AdvanSix Chesterfield plant. This position plays an integral role in ensuring equipment runs properly and efficiently through thorough failure analysis, overseeing repairs and modifications, preventative maintenance, and reporting.

Summary of the Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide the first line of technical support and direction to maintenance and operation personnel for issues related to stationary and rotating equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Prepare formal technical reports to document repair actions, failure analyses, equipment, and process improvements and inspection findings
  • Advise on proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for rotating equipment; where necessary, support job plan and shop paper development in support these activities
  • Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants
  • Support equipment installations/upgrades by ensuring design-for-maintainability and reliability are incorporated into projects

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in chemical/petrochemical plant maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience

 

Overview of the Team:

Team Size and type of each position: Maintenance Department consisting of 13 Salary personnel (1 Maintenance Manager, 1 Maintenance Execution Leader, 4 Engineers, 3 Maintenance Planners, 1 Scheduler, 3 First Line Supervisors), 25 hourly craft

Team Environment: You will be working closely with Maintenance Planning and Execution personnel, hourly craft personnel and all levels of Operations personnel for the safe execution of preventative maintenance and repair activities on various equipment throughout the plant.  Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must to plan, coordinate and execute all activities safely. You must be able to drive performance and influence other resources who do not directly work for you
