Health & Safety Leader
Position Summary: This full-time position requires a self-reliant, highly motivated individual able to work both independently and with a team. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in an organized, accurate and efficient manner. Will be responsible for support of company safety programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Act as company Subject Matter Expert to answer questions and respond to safety program related issues.
•Support and help develop the strategic plan for safety and compliance improvement.
•Provide recommendations on, and develop policies, standards, and procedures.
•Manage and monitor adherence to safety policies and procedures and relay findings to senior leadership as appropriate.
•Ensure reporting of OSHA recordable/lost time incidences and required facility data
•Track and oversee risk management and capital process for safety projects.
•Monitor new health and safety regulations and provide guidance for company adherence.
•Support company observation and HSE continuous improvement processes.
•Monitor compliance of safety program in field and conduct safety audits and program assessments.
•Participate on incident investigation teams and drive improvement in root cause corrective action processes.
•Provide safety support to other departments for special projects and initiatives.
•Monitor, analyze, and communicate health, safety, and environmental performance to drive continuous improvement
•Ability to identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
•Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety rules for general industry compliance.
•Position may require up to 15% travel.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health, construction management or related field.
•A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health disciplines working in manufacturing and/or chemical industry.
Additional Qualifications:
•Professional Certificate (ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST) a plus.
•Auditor experience/ training.
•Excellent leadership and verbal and written communication skills
•Strong aptitude for digital media including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams
•People-oriented personality and aptitude to drive safety culture improvements.
