- Associates degree or minimum two years of college with Anatomy and Physiology or
- Successful completion of Medical Transcriptionist program
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Pathology or General Surgery
- In depth knowledge of medical terminology
·Frequently ascends/descends stairs
·Frequently moves about the office
·Repetitive hand, wrist and shoulder motion
·Responsible for accurate typing skills
·Ability to type dictated cases accurately and timely, as well as proof each typed report for the inclusion and accuracy of all required data.
·Willingness to work with multiple departments to make sure that all cases for the day are completed in a timely manner.
·Ability to manage and handle a high volume work flow.
·Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands.
·Maintain focus and consistently deliver quality work within tight timeframes.
·Handle confidential reports and patient information ensuring they remain secure.
·Be proficient in windows based medical reporting systems.
·Good communication skills
·Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
·Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures.
·Must be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history.
·Must be a team player
·Monitors and reports immediately to management any issue with incoming specimens.
·Participates in special projects and/or assignments as requested by Manager /Director.
