The NCI-designated Ellen and Ronald Caplan Cancer Center together with the Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center at The Wistar Institute are seeking a Cancer Immunotherapy Staff Scientist to join the laboratory of Dr. Luis Montaner. The Montaner lab has an increasing focus on myeloid cell regulation and cancer and immunotherapy through a combination of both murine-based models (ovarian, pancreatic, leukemia, etc.) and human translational studies using specimens from cancer patients.

 

The laboratory focuses on:

 

  • myeloid cells (TAMS, MDSC, PMN-MDSC, etc.) and apoptosis
  • regulation of innate-adaptive responses in cancer
  • regulation Interferon-alpha versus Interferon-beta, Type-I signaling

 

Ph.D. or equivalent degree required.  Three plus years of postdoctoral training, along with a strong publication record, usually evidenced by a minimum of two to three primary-authored, refereed publications in high-quality journals. is required.  Candidate should have superior research skills and the ability to conduct assigned research with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership in immunology, cancer animal models, and molecular/cellular biology with the ability to supervise others. Experience with cancer models, mouse colony management, bioinformatics, microscopy, and flow cytometry is required. It is anticipated that a Staff Scientist will contribute to the intellectual activity of the laboratory through assistance with the writing of grants and publications and participation in seminars.  Interested candidates should apply online and include a CV and full publication list, summary of previous research and contact information of three referees.
