Job Description

  

 

Job Overview

 

Hands on preventative and continuous maintenance of facility, equipment, molds, and tools as prescribed by manufacturer’s recommendations.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Quickly and accurately complete assigned maintenance work orders and communicate completion.
  • Correct problems with machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Safe operation of a forklift.
  • Review manufacturing procedures with manager, make sure you understand all aspects of procedure before starting the assignment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Make sure all parts to complete the repair are available, if not, notify your manager
  • Communicate with manager and supervisors concerning problems with parts or procedures.
  • Complete assigned projects by due date
  • Quality inspection of every repair assignment completed.
  • Responsible for supporting production to improve and maintain the quality of work performed in production areas.
  • Keep tools and maintenance areas clean and in proper working conditions.
  • Ensure manufacturing procedures are available prior to initiating repairs.
  • Make sure all necessary tools and equipment for each job are in place before work begins
  • Other duties as assigned by Process Manager and Plant Manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable with and/or able to learn key areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to handle different situations that will arise including emergency situations.
  • Possess good computer skills.
  • Ability to learn and use company computer programs, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and write proficiently in English

 

Education and Experience

 

  • 1 or more years’ experience in plastics related manufacturing facility, preferred.
  • Good knowledge with hands on maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge in using a variety of tools (manual and electric).
  • Basic Electrical knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to operate and maintain industrial equipment.

 

Working Conditions


Able to work in hot humid environment for extended periods of time.  This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include:

  • Ovens, torches, and rotating tools
  • Forklifts and other moving machinery
  • Loud work environment

 

Physical Requirements


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
 

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • The employee will be walking and standing most of the time as this position requires a continuous presence on the manufacturing floor.
  • Must be able to position self to maneuver around parts, material, and molds.
