Ameri-Kart Corp Kansas seeks Product Design Engineer in Bristol, IN

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the support of new and existing product development related to the rotational molding and vacuum form industry 
  • Under general supervision, prepares routine plans, product designs, specifications, cost estimates, customer support and process engineering change notices (ECN)
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis or FEA
  • Render rotational and vacuum form mold design
  • Utilize Vb.net, C++, and Solidworks
  • Read engineering drawings and preform CAD software drawings
  • Perform PPAP process and work with customers and suppliers on feasibility reviews
  • Identify plastics capabilities and evaluate against customer requirements in the rotational molding and vacuum form industry
  • Apply technical engineering / drafting techniques in the preparation of engineering drawings and other graphic material using computer-aided drafting
  • Maintain revision level necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes
  • Communicate new product and engineering changes to appropriate departments following ECN process
  • Work with process partners to develop costs for new model and engineering change projects
  • Process product change notices and maintains continuity of BOM for assigned projects
  • Actively seek and recommend ways to improve products, equipment, tooling, and processes to increase overall quality, productivity, capacity, lead times and gross margins
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or others to discuss and formulate project timelines on new/existing products
  • Assist in tooling development / purchase requisitions and manage tooling delivery
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining multiple computer-controlled documents
  • Participate in new model development team and other tasks as directed
  • Research and develop new manufacturing processes

Qualifications

Requires: Bachelor’s degree Plastics Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related Engineering degree.
