Job Overview:
The Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the training programs collaboratively developed with the management team, HR, other EPI Training personnel, and the Production manager/supervisors including areas of specific work-related skills, safety and environmental compliance, quality, and ISO standard.Safety responsibility consists of ensuring all safety standards, including OSHA are up to date.

Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Safety

  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to perform safety and accident

investigations and implementation of plant-wide measures and corrective actions.

  • Adheres to and ensures employees are following all safety requirements, including, but not limited to, required PPE.

Attendance

  • Adhere to Elkhart Plastics attendance policy.

Productivity

  • Maintain training records. Ensure training metrics are kept up to date.
  • Reports on a regular basis to the Operations Manager, regarding assigned duties and projects; identify any outstanding issues, determine, and recommend appropriate remedies.
  • Meet or exceed training goals.
  • Perform regular training requirements and performance improvement plan to achieve Elkhart training goals.
  • Promote a positive culture that encourages trust, respect and accountability through training, support, and encouragement.
  • Exercises good judgement and maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost discretion.
  • Effectively work in a multi-task environment, prioritizing tasks properly, and completing tasks/projects in a timely manner.
  • Possess/develop working knowledge of EPI products, production methods, our quality standards, and ISO.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by manager.

Teamwork

  • Assist HR with developing the employees onboarding process

  • Flexibility in schedule to allow for prompt response to safety issues and training demands.

Education and Experience

  • Good written and oral communication skills with proficiency in classroom style presentations.

Working Conditions

Able to work in hot humid environment for extended periods of time.

This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include:

  • Ovens, torches, and rotating tools
  • Forklifts and other moving machinery
  • Loud work environment

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

·The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

·The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

·The employee will be walking and standing the majority of the time as this position requires a continuous presence on the shipping docks/manufacturing floor.
