Responsibility Summary:

Plan, manage and direct machining engineering activities to achieve efficient and economical production, maintain the highest standards of quality and volume requirements, meet the scheduled customer commitments and to accomplish profit, growth and return on investment.



  • In conjunction with the Director of Engineering and other Directors/Managers, develop long- and short-range manufacturing plans, programs, operating procedures and objectives
  • Evaluate the current engineering resource effectiveness and plans resource requirements to ensure that the engineering resources are sufficient to sustain continued company growth
  • Lead the team in new program launches through the entire APQP process
  • Lead the team in safety, quality and productivity improvements to meet the company’s objectives
  • Participate in the cost estimating process for new product during the quotation process (e.g. estimate cycle time and cutting tool cost)
  • Participate and lead in the selection of new processes and equipment
  • Lead the engineering team in the design of work holding, gaging & selection of tooling for new and existing product
  • Participate and lead in customer problem solving resolution following 8D & 3L5Y guidelines
  • Coordinate, direct and approve process/product changes, drawings and specifications through the change management process
  • Participate and in cases lead the Engineering Team through customer, IATF and other audits
  • Provide support to other departments
  • Lead and contribute to PFMEA’s and Control plans per AIAG format
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental & Quality Policies and guidelines


  • Experience in Measurement systems and data interpretation
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, problem solving, human relations & analytical skills
  • Strong team-building and leading skills
  • Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes limited data
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust rapidly
  • Ability to effectively interpret guidelines and policy
  • Proficiency in all MS Office Applications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / SolidWorks


Experience Required:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent Experience
  • Experience in High Volume CNC turning or Gear Manufacturing
  • Experience leading teams
