The Director of Training plays a crucial role in connecting new people to our company. The primary purpose of the Director of Training is to enable new hires to have a cohesive and positive onboarding process into our culture, understand our operational philosophy, and begin the training process for our carrier sales, customer sales, and account management departments. This person will design, implement, and manage our organizational training and development with a focus on new hires while creating continuous learning opportunities for the entire organization.  Leading with a fast-paced sense of urgency through a collaborative, team environment will produce the desired results. 


What You Will Do:

  • Work collaboratively with senior management to understand our core beliefs and principles that drive Direct Connect Logistix to be so successful.
  • Become an expert on DCL customers, DCL carriers, operational processes, and sales strategies, and apply that knowledge to training high performance sales teams.
  • Ensure new sales staff are onbolarded effectively and are continually trained in our processes, products, and best practices.
  • Partner closely with customer sales and carrier sales leadership to drive a culture of continuous learning while identifying specific training needs to improve individual performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong and engaging presentation/facilitation presence, with the ability to listen and quickly adjust content to meet the needs of a diverse audience.
  • Deliver training materials for in-person and virtual classroom settings.
  • Communicate timely progress reports regarding training initiatives and improvements to senior management.
  • Travel as business requires.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Who You Are:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of training leadership and development experience centered around instructional design and training content creation required.
  • Documented experience measuring the efficiency and results of specific training projects.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage operations, geographic freight markets, and asset-based trucking operations is preferred.
  • Prior demonstration of negotiation skills is preferred. Experience with McLeod TMS and Salesforce a plus.
  • Qualified candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and be able to work with others along with working independently.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task in completing scheduled activities and to meet scheduled deadlines. 
  • Be enthusiastic about growing and enabling sales teams with ability to manage all communications in a positive manner. 
  • Punctuality and a good work ethic are critical. 
  • Ability to take a significant role in the SAP and SOP creation processes. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required.
